1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Sidekick! By accessing or using our Telegram bot, website, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Sidekick ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

Sidekick is an accountability and task management bot that integrates with Telegram and third-party task management platforms (Google Tasks, Notion) to help you:

• Create, manage, and track tasks
• Receive motivational reminders and check-ins
• Organize tasks by priority and deadlines
• Sync tasks across devices using your Google Tasks or Notion account

The Service is provided free of charge during our beta period. We reserve the right to introduce paid features or subscription plans in the future with advance notice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Sidekick. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 13 years of age
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• You will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws

If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use this Service.

4. Account Registration and Security

4.1 Account Creation

To use Sidekick, you must:

• Have a valid Telegram account
• Authorize Sidekick to access your Google Tasks or Notion account via OAuth
• Provide accurate information during the setup process

4.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your Telegram account
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach

4.3 Account Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by:

• Sending /disconnect or /delete command to the bot
• Revoking OAuth access at Google Account Permissions
• Blocking the bot in Telegram

5. Acceptable Use Policy

5.1 Permitted Use

You may use Sidekick for personal task management and productivity purposes.

5.2 Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use automated systems (bots, scripts) to interact with the Service in a way that creates excessive load
• Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users or our support team
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited messages
• Scrape, harvest, or collect user data without permission
• Violate the terms of service of Telegram, Google, or Notion

6. User Content and Data

6.1 Your Data Ownership

You retain all ownership rights to your data, including:

• Tasks you create
• Messages you send to the bot
• Any content stored in your Google Tasks or Notion account

6.2 License to Use Your Data

By using Sidekick, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to:

• Access and process your task data to provide the Service
• Store your OAuth tokens and session data for authentication
• Analyze aggregated, anonymized usage data to improve the Service

This license terminates when you delete your account or revoke OAuth access.

6.3 Data Storage

Your task data is stored in YOUR Google Tasks or Notion account—not on our servers. We only store:

• Your Telegram user ID
• OAuth access tokens (encrypted)
• Session data and preferences

6.4 Data Backup

You are responsible for maintaining backups of your task data. While your tasks are stored in Google Tasks (which Google backs up), we recommend maintaining your own backups of critical information.

7. Third-Party Services

Sidekick integrates with third-party services, including:

• Telegram: Messaging platform for bot interactions
• Google Tasks: Task storage and synchronization
• Notion: Alternative task storage (optional)
• Cloudflare: Hosting and infrastructure

Your use of these third-party services is governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices, content, or services of third parties.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Rights

Sidekick and all related trademarks, logos, software, and content (excluding user-generated content) are the property of Sidekick or our licensors. You may not use our intellectual property without prior written permission.

8.2 Open Source

Sidekick is built using open-source technologies. Portions of the code may be available under open-source licenses. See our GitHub repository for details.

8.3 Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about Sidekick, you grant us the right to use, modify, and incorporate such feedback into the Service without compensation or attribution.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

9.1 "As Is" Service

9.2 No Liability for Data Loss

While we implement reasonable measures to protect your data, we are NOT liable for:

• Loss or corruption of your task data
• Unauthorized access to your account (unless caused by our negligence)
• Failures of third-party services (Google, Telegram, Notion, Cloudflare)
• Interruptions or termination of the Service

9.3 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MYBOSS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
• Damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service
• Any damages exceeding $100 USD in total

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for certain damages, so these limitations may not apply to you.

9.4 Not a Substitute for Professional Advice

Sidekick is a productivity tool, NOT a substitute for professional advice. The motivational messages and suggestions are for general informational purposes only and should not be considered:

• Medical, psychological, or mental health advice
• Professional productivity or business consulting
• Financial, legal, or career guidance

If you need professional assistance, consult a qualified professional.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Sidekick, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Violation of these Terms
• Violation of any third-party rights
• Your negligence or willful misconduct

11. Modifications to the Service

11.1 Service Changes

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time
• Add or remove features without notice
• Change pricing or introduce subscription plans (with reasonable notice)

11.2 No Obligation to Maintain

We are under no obligation to maintain or continue operating the Service. We may shut down Sidekick at any time, with or without notice.

12. Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes:

• We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top
• For material changes, we may notify you via the bot or email
• Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.

13. Termination

13.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the Service at any time by:

• Sending the /disconnect command
• Revoking OAuth access to Google Tasks or Notion
• Blocking the bot in Telegram

13.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without notice, if:

• You violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
• We are required to do so by law or court order
• We decide to discontinue the Service
• Your account has been inactive for an extended period

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your access to the Service will be revoked
• We may delete your session data and OAuth tokens from our systems
• Your task data remains in your Google Tasks or Notion account (we do not delete it)
• Sections of these Terms that should survive (indemnification, disclaimers, limitations) will remain in effect

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law principles.

14.2 Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute:

1. Informal Resolution: Contact us first to resolve the issue informally.
2. Binding Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except where prohibited by law.
3. Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive the right to participate in class actions or representative proceedings.

14.3 Exceptions

Either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property rights or confidential information.

15. General Provisions

15.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sidekick regarding the Service.

15.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

15.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

15.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to any affiliate or successor without restriction.

15.5 No Agency

These Terms do not create any agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship between you and Sidekick.

15.6 Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (e.g., natural disasters, acts of war, strikes, internet outages, third-party service failures).

These Terms of Service are effective as of the date stated at the top and apply to all users of Sidekick.
